Second Harvest Curriculum How do you shop for Homeschool Curriculum?
The reason I ask is the past 3 winters have been very busy for us at Second Harvest Curriculum www.usedhomeschoolbooks.com   Homeschool Families and Christian Schools are buying and selling a lot of used homeschool books this time of year.  Historically winter months are slower times.

Grandparents, So Many Gifts to Bring! If you are fortunate to have family members who support you in your homeschooling venture, congratulations!Today I am going to share about Grandparents and the experience they can bring to your homeschool. There are many names for Grandparents, here I am going to use Grandma & Grandpa. We get many calls from Grandparents here at Second Harvest Curriculum, www.usedhomeschoolbooks.com ; particularly Grandma’s who want to help a grandchild “catch up”.  As one Grandma put it yesterday, “ My
Second Harvest Curriculum buys your used homeschool books!
Used Homeschool Books sorted and organized? Check! Ready to Sell? Check! The decision has been made to sell your books, so where do you sell or how.   It can be so overwhelming with all the choices and ways to sell used books. Let me share with you how Second Harvest Curriculum usedhomeschoolbooks.com purchasing program works.
I get a lot of calls during the year from people wanting to sell their used homeschool books. Please help! 1. They are taking up way to much space in my closet, garage, storeroom etc. 2. This would really help to buy next year’s curriculum or pay the electric bill. 3. We are moving. 4. My husband wants them gone! I have moms call saying “I have years of Abeka books I need to sell, don’t know why I hung on to them so long. Some of the reasons are: 1. We might need them for reference 2. Maybe our younger children could use them.
Once again I rely on our customers when I write about change. Changing curriculums takes research, talking to other homeschool families and some trial and error. Here is a link to a great podcast that we sponsored on the Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network about changing curriculum http://ultimateradioshow.com/help-i-want-to-change-my-curriculum/  Check it out. Here is a snap shot of a few curriculums that are on Second Harvest’s catalog page.
Isn’t that why some of us started homeschooling or keep homeschooling?  Being able to make changes that fit your family, child and lifestyle? A mom shared with me that they travel extended periods of time with her husband whose work sends him all over the southeastern part of the country.  She has made several changes in curriculum due to their lifestyle. They take advantage of what the area they are in at the time has to offer in museums, nature, culture & more.
I have been around the homeschool realm for many years and there have been so many changes.  There is a lot more information that can be easily accessed via the internet, homeschoolers with a lot more experience that are willing to share & an abundance of homeschool curriculum.
All through the summer season I am writing notes about next winter’s projects.  So now it is time to find all the notes, organize and prioritize.
Yes, this time of year is the time of year we sell a lot of teacher editions.  It always makes me smile.  Moms are finding out that it “IS” the worth the money to purchase a Teacher Key.
On the Phone at Second Harvest Curriculum I am blessed that I get to listen, laugh & share with homeschool moms & dads.  August & September are busy months for those last minute changes in curriculum or  books that moms thought they had & didn’t. I’d like to share few of the many phone conversations from this summer & homeschool tips:
