When do you find time to exercise?
Posted September 11, 2015 - 9:01pm
I've never really worked out or had a regular exercise routine though I know it's important! The hill I have to walk up to to pick the kids up from the bus stop about does me in! I guess that probably means I need to get in better shape. It's so hard to find extra time in a day though. If you fit it in, what works best for you?

All summer I have been swimming with the kids in the lake we live on for about 2 hours and one day lol, I swam for 7 hours. Don't ask we love to swim. Now that it will soon be changing and that is not an option, I like to walk around the lake. We also ride bikes as a family which is great exercise. I also have a treadmill, eliptical and bike here that I will use during the winter. Just set your time and stick to it. Soon you will look forward to that time.

DUring the summer I fit in exercise doing activities with the kids like hiking or swimming. Now tht school is back in session, I'm having trouble. Last year I would go ride the stationery bike in the morning while the kids were getting dress, but I haven't had the drive to do it this year.

I just gave up this summer. It was a battle I wasn't willing fight. Now that school is in session and both my kids are in school all day, I have options since I work part time from home. I did run a half marathon in January, so I guess I found a way to get my running in last school year. It was hard though.

I have weights I use at home usually when I'm watching TV or work out to music.

During the Summer...we have been swimming and hiking and taking beach walks with our dog. It is easy to get in excercise! Fall...I think I may have to start waking up early and walk. But, we do get out for PE time every day. :)

I've been looking at apps and videos that have 15-30 minute workouts. Surely I can have time to fit that in! I just need to put it on my to-do list everyday.

I have struggled wiith this my whole life. When we lived in Utah walking the kids back and forth from school and doign housework kept me relatively fit. Now, i work full-time outside the home and have a sit-down job. I have gained 35pounds in the course of 2 years. I've just started making it a point to walk more when I get home. We went hiking this weekend and my legs are hating me. It's a hard balance because there are so many things that need to be done.

I agree! I enjoy hiking but haven't been in a very long time. Exercise just seems to be shoved to the bottom of the priority list but I'm going to need to try to make an effort to fit some in somewhere!

Right? It's so far down my list. I read we're suppose to schedule exercise like everything else, but when that time comes, there's a million more things that seem to be needing me more. It's also the first thing I bump if I need to fit something else in.

I hate to admit it is the one thing that gets cut. My faith is very important to me and I try to carve out time daily for that. I just can't seem to find a way to carve out more time for exercise at this point. Sometimes the stars align and I throw in a yoga dvd!

My son and I help with after school sports - we get paid and get exercise. We help with cross country and basketball so we are guaranteed exercise 5 days of the week!

We are looking forward to hiking more this Fall.
