That is one shot I skip on purpose due to moral believes.  I know some will say it's not just my son or daughter, but who they end up with as their significant other you are protecting them from, but for me it's a no now.

As a cancer survivor myself, I'm pretty sure we'll say yes when it's time for our girls to have it. HPV causes cervical cancer - if there is a known way to prevent a cancer, how can I say no?

I had my son and daughter take the vaccine. I had a relative who had cervical cancer and I just don't want to pass up a chance to help prevent that for someone in the future.

We just got the shot for my daughter.  This was not supposed to be conveyed to her as "be sexually active" but it's just one less concern to have.  If there's a way for us to prevent cervical cancer, then we had to take it.
