I think each family is different. We are lip kissers, cheek kissers and forehead kissers. 

I've never heard that! I would think it's the intent rather than the location that makes it sexual. My kids and I are very kissy. Lips, cheeks, forehead.

I think it is up to each family for sure. In our house my ex-husband and I were big huggers with the kids and cheek, forehead and top of the head kissers with them.

We don't do it.

I also saw that on FB and yes, each family is different. I don't see anything wrong with kissing. We usually now kiss cheeks since my son is 11 but we did kiss on the lips when he was younger and don't see think there is anything sexual about it. 

This is such an interesting topic- I never saw the study, but I have to admit it is somthing I'm conscience of. We do it at times the kids initiate, but I personally feel more comfortable with cheeks and forehead. My husband's family often kiss hello and goodbye right on the lips (very quickly). I always turn my cheek, which they probably hate. But, it is just uncomfortable for me.... I know a little off topic!

I only did when they were young babies but not for the reasons you mention. I don't do it  because I a germophobe. LOL
