We take a slightly different approach in our neighborhood. Well, we pool together and add money to the community fund.
The fund is then allocated to be spent on a lot of stuff. For the purpose of security, we employ the services of a professional security training company; they are based in Vancouver (www.optimumsecurity.ca/british-columbia/vancouver/) and are well trained before being operational. And FYI, there are about 25 houses on our street and yep, safety is ensured.
