Even though we're not Catholic it was fun making Advent wreaths while we attended the Episcopal church.

Advent wreaths are fun. I think they help add to the build up and excitement.

We don't do the wreathes, but we do the advent calenders that the kids love.

We're Jewish so we rock the movie theaters and Chinese food on Christmas. I know that seems corny, but it really helps my kids feel more unique. Schools are so x-mas themed, in a weird way, it's like we're celebrating the holiday too, but in our own way. And great movies come out not on X-mas, so who can argue with that?

I love this! We aren't Jewish and this is one of our families traditions! I love that we share the same ritual and celebration!

We really don't. We've moved a lot and don't live near family so for years we traveled during holidays. Now that we are more settled and the kids are older I want traditions and rituals for holidays but it's hard starting from scratch.

They don't even have to be big things! My friend's family growing up made every Friday night "Pizza Friday." Which was great because 1. Pizza 2. Made everyone want to stick around for a night of dinner 3. Encouraged my friends to invite everyone over and spend more time at the house/get to know the friends and 4. Pizza

I agree with CraigK (whose family rocks the pizza night)...it doesn't have to be big and it doesn't have to be the holidays.

I love the idea of pizza night. We do movie and game nights and used to do wii dance nights.

We do the advent calendars every December and we bake cookies together every Christmas and go see the holiday lights at sleepy hollow...a neighborhood that goes all out on Christmas decorating.

We don’t do anything major. However, for Christmas we always go to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, we go to one of the light tours, and we do a Christmas Eve box.

Your Kid's Table
For birthday's we always have jimmie (or sprinkle) pancakes for breakfast. We also fill their room with balloons while they are sleeping so when they wake up they cover the floor.
