Co-Op Preschool

Wondering if anyone had their young child in a Co-Op Preschool where the parents stay at least one day a week. How was the experience?

Not my own kids because I had mine so close together I wouldn't have been able to do the co-op thing. I did do it when I was a nanny though and really enjoyed it!

No I never did that with my kids.

I never even heard of that, but think it is a great idea for families that can make it work.

When I was a stay at home mom, I liked to help out at my son's schools.

That was very popular where we lived in California, so much so that parents would line up for hours just to get in to the co-ops when they opened enrollment. So it seems like it worked well there!

That's so interesting, I'm not sure there are any in the pittsburgh area at all.

We have some great ones in Seattle that are connected to the community colleges that offer Early Childhood Education degrees. They have Co-Op preschools on campus. Parents stay one day per week and the teachers help the student teachers learn to teach. Great for all involved!
