"The Elf on the Shelf" was created in 2005 by a mother-daughter duo, Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell, who made the elves for a fun tradition for their families to enjoy year after year. A decade later, Santa's helpers have found homes with thousands of families and images of their cute and mischevious activies flood social media around this time each year.
You can adopt an elf for your family here and let the hilarity ensue! At the start of Advent, the elf is deployed as Santa's spies to make sure their new family belongs on the "nice" list. Never underestimate the power of Christmas!
