How much weight you lose after delivery is a very tricky question because it depends on many things. One is how much you gain during pregnancy. The guidelines have been at 25-35 pounds during the entire pregnancy. They have changed recently. They say that now based on your pre-pregnancy weights. If you are obese you should gain less. If you are thin you can gain more. But still 25-35 pounds is average. You tend to lose 10 maybe 15 pounds in the first days even of the weight of the pregnancy due to the placenta is about 15 pounds. The rest of the pounds is the mom's. The pounds that she gains, fat cells, breast size. It may take several months for her to lose that. A lot of women that we know have a hard time losing the weight because it is hard to exercise after the pregnancy. It is hard to do anything for yourself except take care of the baby.
