- You know if you have gone through the proper channels at a school, if you've gone to the counselor, the principal, and reported that your child is being bullied, you know, your child's life very well could hang in the balance of you being willing to keep that fight going. There is always someone above the person you're talking to. If you don't get satisfaction from the school themselves, then you go above their head and you go to the school district and you talk to the school superintendent. The school board. Go to a school board meeting. If we don't get satisfaction there and they don't help, then we move up the ladder to the state level and we talk to the state board of education and the state school superintendent and if they don't help and we don't get satisfaction there we take it up to the federal level and you can talk to the federal department of education and you know you can even go as far as to go to the US Department of Justice. They have some old archaic laws that they're willing to use and interpret. They don't deal with bullying, they actually deal with human rights. But they're using them and interpreting them in a broad manner where they can actually get the help we need to help our kids so there's always another step that we can take. You know, it may not be that we wanna fight that long lengthy battle like that. We oughta be able to go to our school and say hey. Tell the counselor, the principal, hey. My kid's being picked on and they should be able to deal with it but in the cases that they are not dealing with it, there's always someone higher to go above.
