We do encourage children to befriend other children who are being bullied. However, age really makes a difference. For example, if it's a younger child being picked on by a group of older kids, that's tricky. And we don't advise the child to jump in and be the savior. We really encourage the bystander to go get help from an adult, a trusted adult who can make a difference, step in safely.
