Eating out and going to social events can be really challenging for some moms and some babies. It's important to taper your expectation according to the baby's age.
Little babies can only sit for five or ten minutes of time before their body needs to move. After all, that's what their body really wants to do. It's important to plan ahead, ordering the food, coming in right as the food is served.
Going to a restaurant that is really baby-friendly is important, too. That way you won't feel embarrassed when baby starts making noise and throwing food and acting like a baby.
For an older baby, bring a backpack full of toys that they have never seen before. It will keep them busy while you enjoy your meal.
