Some of the ways that a parent can help their child with teething discomfort are by using a washcloth that’s cooled in the fridge, or you can use various teething toys. You might have to experiment with many different ones, but your child will definitely find one that they prefer more than another.
You can also use topical gels that you would put on your child’s gums. And another way that you can help is by using homeopathic capsule or a teething tablet. And I found, in particular, that my child really benefited from that. They have chamomile, which is also easing to their fussiness and irritability, because they’re uncomfortable.
Another thing that can help your child with their discomfort is using a conventional pain medication, which would be Acetaminophen, or Ibuprofen, which helps with the swelling. Always make sure that you check with your doctor before giving medicine. Never give them Aspirin and only use that as a last resort.
And, of course, the most important thing to help your child with their teething discomfort is to give them a little extra love. A little bit goes a long way.
