One of the biggest concerns that we have in the society today pertaining to children, alcohol and drugs is combining drugs and alcohol. When you see someone who's overdose frequently, what you'll see is that they've combined a pill with an alcohol. And that that is the fatal cocktail that has killed them or put them into a coma. That is a concern, because they don't understand the biochemistry of what's going on. If they've been prescribed Ritalin for an ADHD or an ADD diagnosis, it is important to understand that that is one of the most abused drugs among adolescence and kids because Ritalin is recreationally used, passed around, ground up, snorted, taken and combined with pills. If there are pills that are being prescribed for ADD or ADHD, if there's Ritalin being prescribed, the parent needs to be in control of those pills and that needs to be given out specifically one pill at a time. It should never be up to the child's discretion to take the pill as they feel is needed. It's one of the more of the abused drugs in adolescence today.
