Do you have to be more protective with the gay son versus the straight son? You probably shouldn’t be because we should always be aware of what’s going on with our kids, whether they’re gay or straight, but I think yes. I think you are a little bit with a gay son, probably treat him a little bit more like a daughter. In that, with two boys, I mean, boys, teens, sex. There’s no one who’s going to say no. You really have to be aware of what they’re doing. We don’t let my son having boyfriends in the house when we’re not at home. You just ... I also think communication. We talk about absolutely everything. I mean, some other conversations that go on between my son and husband and I, make me uncomfortable because they just are so direct and always have been. He has always been very comfortable asking us anything. I think just always keeping that communication open, parenting, being there, being present, watching what’s going on, and being on top of it, but yeah, I do think it probably is different with the gay son and the straight son even though probably shouldn’t be
