Depo-Provera is another form of birth control. It is very popular with teens because they don't have to remember to take a pill or change the patch or put in the nuvaring. What it does is basically they have to go to their healthcare provider or to their doctor and they get a shot. That shot stays in their body for 12 weeks and keeps on working, preventing pregnancy. It does not protect against STDs so a condom still has to be used. If someone has intercourse with somebody, they need to protect against the STDs and sexually transmitted infections. Some people really like this particular method because, as I said before, they don't have to think about it. And that's what the Depo shot is.
