Transcription:
When young people become teens, it's their job to start asserting their independence, but that can be very difficult for families; especially for parents who have had this role all along where they are the protectors and the nurturers, and now they're being asked to step back, and yet they are still concerned and want safety for their child. So it really is a time when it becomes extremely important to really look at your larger community; it being aunts or uncles; however you create that for yourself in terms of, who the other adults are in this young person's life, so that you can start to step back from that role and allow other adults to provide that guidance and not have to have the conflict that sometimes happens between young people and their parents.
