Driving is a rite of passage for many teenagers, and a lot of parents wonder when should I let my teenager start to drive. So I always recommend that parents start really early with their teenagers, At 13, 14, just start teaching them about the responsibility of driving. In my household, we had to wash the cars every weekend for three years before we could get our own car. But when we did, we really appreciated keeping it clean and we had sort of earned a little bit of that money with all the money my parents saved not having to get the cars washed. So start early with teaching them about car mechanics, how to take care of it. When they are 15 or 16, that is when you can really start taking them on driving practice lessons and make them pay for their own car or help them contribute to the car. They can get a part time job or volunteer taking care of your car so they can really feel like they appreciate it when they start driving.
