Helping your child develop conflict management skills is one of the most essential skills that you can impart. Emotions color everything that we do and there's so much heat attached to it that they must learn the difference between what they feel that is so and what they know to be so. I always say that emotions color everything and I explain this to the girls in my workshop by saying to be red with rage, or green with envy, or tangled up in blue prevents clear thinking. And so my battle cry is "Go beige!" Uncolor your world. Learn to detach the heat and color and emotion from what you're feeling, from what the situation is so that you'll be able to have clarity. And that's really what it's a lesson in: Clarity.
