Support groups can be an effective weight losing tool for adults and for teenagers. They are not oriented for children. There is only one provider right now, nationally, of support groups for teens, and that is Well Spring Journey. So they will go online and find out about it. It's a small group of people, ten at the most, getting together and talking about what they are doing. They are looking at their self-monitoring journals and keeping track of eating and activities, solving the problems they encounter, and setting new goal each week. So it's a very effective therapy. It's not as powerful as a Well Springs Emersion Therapy or a camp or a boarding school, but it can be very effective. It can really be useful after an emersion program when someone is really intensely focused on this. For some people, that's all they need. They can get together, learn new principles, apply them, get real focused, and do great things.
