Transcription:
Somatic Experiencing differs from traditional therapies, trauma therapies in the following ways.
First, traditionally, trauma has been treated by having people talk about the trauma. What Somatic Experiencing does, it helps people identify how their body has been impacted by the trauma. How we've tighten against the trauma, or collapsed in the trauma. And it helps people to have new experiences of an empowerment and mastery. And it really doesn't have to do either with the reliving of the trauma. It really has to do with being to establish a capacity for resilience and healing.
