Oh goodness! It is so important to tell our daughters how beautiful they are. There is not a woman on this planet who steps out of house and doesn´t compare herself to another woman. Every last one of us wants to feel beautiful. And that, there is no difference when it comes to our little girls. It is great that we are constantly talking to them about how to be strong. It is great that we are telling them that they need to be smart, that they need to be able to go toe to toe with boys and be these incredible human beings. But a part of being an incredible human being is feeling good about yourself. And it is important to tell these children, particularly little girls, when you fix your hair and you feel confident, have on clothes that make you feel comfortable and make you square your shoulders and hold your chin up, there is nothing more powerful than that, than feeling good about yourself. It is not about how other people see you. It is about how you see yourself. And when you are constantly telling a little girl you are beautiful, she understands why she is beautiful. Let her know that her hair is lovely, that she has beautiful skin, that she is so strong and powerful when she runs and looks graceful when she does it. These are things that make a little girl square her shoulders and feel good about herself and I think that is important.
