Unschooling, at first, was really hard for us.
It took me almost a year to get my life and my schedule, their needs, my needs under control. I gave them a year to try it. After that, I said, "We'll try something else if this is not working."
What I came to realize is raising kids is hard; homeschooling, unschooling, taking them to school, picking up, going to the meetings, homework. Whatever your day is like with your kids, it is hard. I focus on the great things about it; our freedom, our connection, our love of life, the love of our friends, the love of learning.
It's hard, at times. It's like anything. We have our good days and our bad days, our ups and downs. We have those days when it's really flowing. We're doing so good and learning at times. There are the times when I feel like we are getting a little bit lazy and need to do more. It's an ongoing process.
