Sometimes when I'm coaching kids, they will get upset when they don't score. Let's face it: All the kids, and they usually start with soccer, want to score the goal.
One of the most important things about sports is that it is a team sport. What you want to do as a coach, you want to talk to all the kids about the object is not who scores, how many goals you score, or how much you score. It is that everyone contributes; it might be a pass or it might be a little play. Win together as a team and you lose together as a team.
Once you confide that in all the kids, they get it.
