I think finding support when you are dealing with autism is so important. Your family may be great and supportive, but sometimes they don’t know quite what to do as well as your friends and some of them might not be there to support you. Just their intention may be great, but they just might not know what to do. Finding a support group, whether it’s online or whether it’s local that you can go to is so key, because they’re going to share in the experience with you. They’ve been there, they know what to do, they can share recourses and they’re just going help to support you as the parent being strong for your child. One of the things that I did was I went to Generation Rescue online and looked up their Rescue Angels. And connect – you can connect with a Rescue Angel. You can read their stories – there was 1400 of them. And you can share in the experience, ask questions, reach out for support. It’s really, really invaluable to have that. And their stories are going to also inspire that hope – and you need that when you’re so desperate at that time to look for hope.
