So the question I'm often asked is, well, even if we can remove heavy metals from a child's body, what can we expect to get out of that? Why would we even put the child through that? Well, heavy metals, whether they be lead or arsenic or cadmium, mercury, these heavy metals impact immune systems and they also impact the enzyme systems within them. In other words, the immune system can't work properly if there's heavy metals involved in them because they just short-circuit everything. And therefore, you have children who havechronic infections. So one of the things we can do, then, is remove heavy metals and maybe see chronic infections not being so chronic anymore and the immune system is working the way it's supposed to. The concern, though, is that if heavy metals go into the brain, because some of the heavy metals have a certain tenacity to go into the brain and effect the enzyme systems there, which slows the brain down. Bottom line is: we all tend to work a lot better with fewer metals in our body and that's the whole process; to remove these metals and see if our children can benefit from that.
