There are a lot of preschools that actually won't accept your child if they're not potty trained. And my advice is to really let the child determine when they're ready. So in these instances, I suggest that you talk to the head of the school and explain to them that this is not something you can impose upon your child. It's up to the child to decide. And you would like to work with the school to figure out a scenario that will work best. So maybe it is that your child needs to wear a diaper that's easier to get on or off. Maybe you need to show up at the school once or twice a day to change your child's diaper if that's possible. But I think that you want to choose a school environment where they're going to understand that this is a natural part of child development, and not every child reaches the milestone at the exact same time, and that you still want to be able to put your child in a learning environment and not have to keep them home, while at the same time you want to support your child in letting them develop at their own pace.
