You may suspect that your child has placed something in their nose if you smell a foul odor coming out from their mouth or if you actually see something in their nose. If you can see it very easily at the tip and reach it, you can try to pull it out but if it's very deep or it's been there for a long time, you should probably go see your doctor. Foreign bodies in the nose can be dangerous because the size of the inside your nose is the same size as your airway. If babies were to inhale suddenly they could aspirate or choke on the thing that are stuck on their nose.

Dr. Jordan was born in Riverside, California and received her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and has since worked in many different settings.
