What are the different types of daycare available or childcare available for infants and toddlers? There are 2 main types of childcare. There is in-home care and out of home care. In-home care is usually done with family friend or neighbor who comes to the home where the child lives. Or a nanny comes to your home. That's in-home care. Out of home care is licensed homes - license care. It would be a family childcare home is done in the residence of someone who is licensed, but it is in their home. Or there's childcare centers. That's more familiar with most people - is that it can be in a commercial building, it can be a corporation type of childcare, or it can be affiliated with a synagogue or a church program.
