Transcription:
My girlfriends threw me a baby shower circle, which basically was we sat in a circle, they passed around a talking stick and they shared with me all the advice and wisdom they had about becoming a mom. They told me stories about birth, they told me stories about how my marriage was gonna change, how my heart was gonna expand and open up into this new world of becoming a mom. And I was so interested in that because nobody was talking about what was gonna happen when I became a mom. They were giving me gifts and helping me set up a nursery. But I wanted to know real information, real tidbits that I could take with me into this new journey of becoming a mom. And in turn, sitting in a circle, I got to share where I was at on this journey of becoming a mom. I got to share my hopes, my fears, my dreams, and my wishes. And in turn, I felt so supported by my circle of girlfriends.
