Yes, you can continue your pre-pregnancy exercise routine and there is a time when you should alter it. You can continue it up to the first trimester. Again, always talk to your doctor first, make sure that you’re healthy and your pregnancy is normal. And you can continue doing just about everything that you can do. But after the first trimester, things begin to change. There are basically four don’ts after your first trimester. Don’t overheat. Again, you can mist, but you can’t sweat. If you feel flushed, begin to slow down. Number two, nothing on your back. When you’re lying on your back, the pressure stops the blood flow, or reduces the blood flow to your uterus – not good for the baby. Number three, because the hormones are changing, the dimension in the elasticity of your joints, don’t drop below 90˚ with your knees. And number four, try not to do anything that you haven’t been doing before in the second trimester.
