Being a new parent of twins and having lost a twin at the same time can cause a lot of emotions and a duality. It is normal to feel joy and pain at the same time. What I recommend during this emotional time is to really set aside time everyday to grieve while caring for your newborn. Even for 5 minutes if you can a quiet place to sit maybe perhaps when your baby is napping to really think about the other baby and think about this loss. Craft out some special time with your spouse as well to reflect on what the birth has meant to you and what the other baby meant to you as well. For your consideration, perhaps create a memory book. Create a memory book for what it felt like to go through pregnancy with the twins. So that they other twins has a memory book to reflect about as he or she is growing up as well.
