Transcription:
In order for fertility physicians to determine what the cause of fertility problems are, we need to, first take a good history of the patient. In the history, we list things like age of the female. Because age is the biggest predictor of fertility, we get that information. We also learn things during the physical exam or ultrasound, that can help us determine if the patient is ovulating or not. We also have patients take a test called, the hysterosalpingogram; a picture of their uterus and also their tubes, to make sure their tubes are open and there is nothing in the uterus that would prevent them from getting pregnant. We also have their partners have a semen analysis, that we can evaluate the sperm; and know whether or not that is the contributing factor to their fertility problems.
