My daughter's first dental visit

Hey, my daughter is four years old. I have noticed that her gums are swollen and bleeding. The gums are bright red in color. They recede away from the teeth. She has bad mouth odor too. I am very strict in terms of my children's health, especially dental health. I think my daughter is suffering from gingivitis. I have heard that gingivitis requires early detection and treatment. I fear that it will lead to complications in future. I am planning to take her to a periodontist. It is her first visit to a dentist. Is there anything, in particular, that needs to be noted before taking her to the dentist?
