Technology is one of the biggest challenges facing parents today. Should you let them get an email, well a lot of experts will say none until they’re 13. Frankly, I let mine get them when they are about 10. Here’s why. I can monitor what they’re doing. I have their passwords. I know exactly who they’re writing to and when. As they get older, they may not be as willing to let me in on what they’re doing. Same thing with Instagram. Instagram is something that they can beyond at young ages. It should be private, make sure the privacy settings are set at only the people you’ll allow can follow them, but in some ways, it is a nice way for them to experiment, for them to experiment at an age when you can able to control what they put up.
