Blogger Amanda Knickerbocker explains some of the immediate health concerns for preemie babies.

Transcription:
Some of the most immediate health concerns that micro preemies face are respiratory distress. Some micro preemies need to be intubated, which means that they have a tube placed and they’re placed on a ventilator to assist in their breathing.
Other micro preemies can go straight to CPAP, which is continuous positive airway pressure, which is a less invasive form of breathing assistance.
Other things that babies face born at this gestation include sepsis – which is a blood infection; low blood count – they need transfusions.
Very early on in their life you go discuss a PDA, which is a patent ductus arteriosus, which is a valve in the heart that doesn’t close properly and can be fixed either with medication or with surgery.
