There are a lot of types of physical therapy treatment available to women postpartum, especially initially postpartum; in the first few months, to allow a woman to strengthen her own individual needs of returning to her normal exercise. A physical therapist would work on strengthening things a little differently than returning to a trainer or an exercise class, and individualize, as well as, looking at if there is any scar tissue or issues related to pain in muscle spasms, or post c-section. So, again, soft tissue therapeutic exercise and other modalities. It might be ultrasound, infrared light, electrical stimulation, all types of modalities that help get the body to return to normal.
