Breastfeeding. Big one. This is a big topic, obviously, whether you have postpartum depression or not. But, it's especially big for women who go through PPD, anxiety related illnesses. Some people are fine. They can motor on, keep breastfeeding. They actually find that breastfeeding makes them feel better. It's the one thing that allows them to feel connected to their baby. So, that's a good thing and they need to keep going 'cause it's helping them. But, for other moms, and I was one of these, breastfeeding can actually cause more anxiety, perhaps in its worse. And, I know that it's hard for some people to hear because people feel very strongly about it. But, I believe that having a mom who's healthy and available for her child is the most important thing. So, you know, if you are in a situation where you're considering quitting because of the fact that it's causing you a lot of stress and anxiety and you're trying to get better from postpartum depression, do it. You have to do what the right thing is for you. And, I know it's hard and I know there are people that will judge. But, the thing to do is remind yourself over and over again that your baby needs you. More than anything, your baby needs you to be healthy, to be alive, to be stable, to be able to experience the joy of motherhood. Those things are crucial and I think that tramps driving yourself crazy with breastfeeding. So, don't be guilty. Do what you've got to do and keep on going.
