The function of a belly brace is to help support the abdominal muscles and to support the back as well. Do they really work? They really work if they are fitted properly and if they are fitting in a way that are training the muscles to go back to where they need to be. You really need some professional advice if you get a standard, over-the-counter one, that's fabulous to start to use. If you are finding that your abs are just not getting back or you are having back pain, you need to seek some advice. There are some other over-the-counter braces that are not widely publicized that a physical therapist can direct you to get the right brace that actually fits you.
