Reflux is an unfortunate common problem in children and it can affect their dentition. Because it has acid in it, that acid can demineralize your child's teeth and make it more prone to plaque and decay. It is important that any child who has reflux, is an a strict mineral therapy regimen. For example, there is calcium triphosphate that can be placed on the teeth twice a day. There are fluoride rinses. There are ways to prevent your child from getting any of those side effects. There are many treatments that can protect your child from the demineralizing effects of reflux.
