Transcription:
There are a lot of challenges that come with not being the first wife or the first mother.
In a lot of ways, I think we are conditioned to always want to be the first. But I can wish upon a star all my lifelong, that my husband was never married, didn't have a wife, and didn't experience fatherhood; but I can't rewrite his history.
Instead, I choose to leverage his experiences as a father and as a husband because he's really good at it. He's had a lot of practice. In turn, he gets to leverage my experiences having been a step child and having a close relationship with my step mom.
It all works out in the end because we both come to the table with a lot of experiences. Plus, with a little creativity, we create a lot of firsts and first experiences all the time.

Stepmom & Expectant Mom
Tristan is a stepmom of two and a mom of one-on-the-way. By day she is a Love Stylist, helping single women navigate the challenges of dating. She is the author of Menu Dating and the soon to be released, Getting Out of Love's Way. By night she is a psychology grad student at Pepperdine. What she really lives for, though, is lazy strolls on the beach, eavesdropping at local coffee shops, shopping for vintage dresses and of course, snuggle time with the family.
