Transcription:
One of the things that happens in a woman´s life is she is born with a finite number of eggs and as she goes through life, they will be subsequently depleted month by month. Ultimately, she will end in menopause. One of the ways that we are able to assess ovarian reserve or fertility potential is to assess on the third day a hormone level called follicle stimulating hormone and asterdyl levels. Those hormones are produced by the pituitary gland in the brain and the ovary respectively. And in testing both of them, we are able to assess how the system is working, how the ovary is doing. If it is depleted, it will cause the pituitary to secrete more FSH.
