I think the golden nugget that I’d like to share is that the parenting journey is not just about raising children – it’s about raising adults. And with that message, what’s critically important, all the way through childhood – starting in infancy – the value of struggle cannot be emphasized enough. Giving your young children opportunities to struggle so that they gain the skills of self-soothing, delayed gratification and frustration tolerance are critical for them to be happy adults and ones that are able to manage the frustrations and obstacles that may come their way as they grow.
