Nutritionist Del Millers, PhD, lists the best types of vitamin and nutritional supplements for children

Transcription:
I do believe in giving kids supplements, because I think it's really important. A lot of families don't have the best eating habits there are. So what I encourage is a fruit and vegetable supplement. They also come in gummy form. Those are good because kids are because kids are getting whole food extra. They're getting more nutrients from the fruit and vegetables.
The Omega 3 fats are also important because you need a lot of them, and you do have some good Omega 3 supplements out there that actually taste pretty good. So those are the two primary ones I recommend.
As far as individual vitamins, I never recommend individual vitamins for kids, because those really should be taken by people who have deficiency in certain areas. If you have iron deficiency, well you take an iron supplement for a while. Not over a long term. And kids don't really need that unless their doctors prescribe that.
