Where are these genetically-modified food found? Well, they are found most likely in processed foods. As I was learning about this, I was truly stunned. I mean, nobody was aware that these ingredients had been quietly introduced into our food supply. And so as any concerned mother, as any concerned citizen, I started to look. And now it is estimated that 80% of processed foods contain these genetically-engineered ingredients. Primarily, they are derived from corn, soy, canola oil, and sugar beets, which are increasingly used to sweeten our foods. And so if you can really make a concerted effort, when you're looking at the ingredients in any of the processed food that you buy, if you are trying to avoid these genetically engineered ingredients, it is primarily in the corn, the soy, the canola, and the sugar beets.
