If one begins to understand that we have evolved from hunter/gatherers. That we, in fact, still have the basic genetic prescription to be hunter/gatherers, then one sees the benefits necessary for play and exercises. When we were hunter/gatherers, we moved 8-14 miles a day. Walking, foraging, running, swimming, lifting, exercise was part of our lives. You didn't find anybody training for the Iron Man or the Triathalon because people were always moving. We still have that genetic prescription, and we need to move. It's a way, not only to regulate our bodies, but to regulate our brains and our minds.
