David Roberts, CPA, shares advice for parents on how much college expenses are today for each child in order to help them save enough for their kids' college fund

Transcription:
College requires today an average family for a college or university setting, 20 to 30 thousand dollars per year per child. Which is without all the bells and whistles. It doesn’t include summer courses, it doesn’t include study abroad programs.
So for a 4 year education, that can cost anywhere from 80 to 120 thousand dollars per child. And if you have a young family, let’s say a 1-year-old, so your college is 18 years away, that could skyrocket to somewhere between 250 to 300 thousand dollars per child.
