Planning is the key to sanity as a working mother. The best thing you can do to save time is to establish a routine with your kids because having a routine makes it easier for your partner and your kids to be helpful. We really like to make a plan with our toddler because it helps our toddler to be helpful in the mornings. For instance, my toddler gets dressed as soon as she gets out of bed in the morning, so that after we finish breakfast, she is ready to go off to school. For a working parent, sometimes the morning is the only focus time you have with your kids because when you get home from work, they are ready to go to bed. Having a routine makes it so you are not running around in the morning trying to get things done, instead you can have some genuine playtime. One of the things I do to save time is I make baby food just once a week. I steam and puree baby food and then I freeze half of it so we have enough for a whole week. Then I cube the same steamed vegetables for my toddler to eat for the week and put a few proteins in there, so that she can pick at those all week.
