Every working mom comes to me and says, “How do I do it all?” Well guess what, you can't. No one is superwoman, so don’t try to be. I like to think of this. Thinking of yourself as a ship. You just don’t want to upside, you don’t want to see you’re too much to one side of worker, too much to the other side of home. Also, don’t let guilt be your guide. If you spend all of your time feeling badly because you’re not at work enough or you’re not at home enough, you’re always going to be in the down position. Then finally, set clear limits. Let your kids know that you’ll pick them up two days a week, and what those days are, or let your office know that you’ll always have to leave early on Friday. Once people know the limits are, they can get accustomed to them, but you’ll be the person to set them.
