Transcription:
It is important that siblings communicate when they are caring for an aging parent. It's very important because, often times, the siblings are coming from different perspectives and it's better to be honest about what you can do and what you can't do.
The other siblings have to respect that. It takes time and it's a process. The best way to do that is communicate frequently and often as possible. When you do so, then you understand where your siblings are coming from. It helps prevent a lot of resentment and anger, which is something I have to do. I am the primary caregiver and I thought my siblings should do a lot more than what they were doing.
Once I realized that everyone was doing the best that they can, it was easier for me to be able to communicate with my siblings and give the best care to my mother.
